David Kriegel, Managing Principal


Principal David Kriegel has practiced architecture for 30 years. His responsibilities at Gran Kriegel include overseeing design as well as overall firm management. Long concerned with issues of sustainability, he has designed projects that range from award-winning private residences and academic facilities to acclaimed retail and commercial spaces. In all of them he combines an expressive use of natural materials with innovative design solutions. Two of his projects achieved prestigious AIA design awards, and his work has been published in Interior Design, The New York Times and Architectural Record. Mr. Kriegel began his career at Gran Associates in 1982. After 12 years with another firm, he returned as a partner in 2000. Email





Christine Wentz, Associate Principal


Associate Principal Christine Wentz is a designer and project manager with a record of precision and productivity. She is highly conscientious and sensitive to client needs while maintaining a tight correlation between the client’s objectives and the design team’s output. Experience across building types and project sizes corroborates her keen grasp of the fundamentals. Email





Kayoko Karatsu, Project Manager


Kayoko Karatsu joined Gran Kriegel Associates following work with a number of firms in New York, California, Colorado, and Japan. She is technically adept, having been responsible for cost estimating, plan checking, scheduling, coordination of documents and building inspections, code compliance, identifying site conditions and zoning envelopes. She has prepared paperwork and interfaced with governing bodies through myriad project types and circumstances. Email





David Mendelsohn, Project Architect


David Mendelsohn joined Gran Kriegel Associates with diverse experience in the creative, technical and business skills that constitute architecture, from multiple software proficiencies to project design and management, billing, model-making and architectural photography. His projects range from civic buildings, theaters, libraries, market-rate housing, and healthcare facilities to classrooms and housing for people with developmental and physical disabilities. At Gran Kriegel, he has focused on capital repair projects for the New York City School Construction Authority and design for new supportive residences. Email





Marjiorie Felice, Project Architect


In the 10 years following her masters degree, Ms. Felice has designed retail, hospitality, historic restorations, a church, senior housing, and high-end residences. She actively managed construction field operations, commissioning, and close-out for the restoration of the historic Corbin Building in lower Manhattan. At Gran Kriegel, Ms. Felice currently provides construction administration for close-out of a new school in Long Island City and for a mid-rise community residence in the Bronx.Email





Michael Vanreusel, Project Architect

Michael Vanreusel is an experienced professional with a history in institutional, educational and performance spaces, and residential design. Large projects involving intricate document coordination, design-build, and highvisibility projects characterize his work to date. His museum experience includes a new contemporary art museum at the Presidio in San Francisco, the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco, and the Staten Island Museum. He contributed to the design and construction documents for a new clinic in Haiti, rehabilitation of Brooklyn’s PS 132, and several housing projects in New York City. Early in his career, Michael co-founded a consortium to design and build furniture with a focus on sustainability.Email





Patrick Derosier, Project Architect


Patrick Derosier has programmed and planned a new charter school on Governor’s Island for two separate sites and is currently designing a school for autistic students in Manhattan leased space. He gained considerable experience in design for healthcare and healthcare technologies with major hospitals in Boston, and earlier achieved cross-disciplinary training through work with a specialist in modular construction and a firm consulting on the use of prefabricated and green building technologies, communicating practical applications to clients and customers.Email





Brock Benninger, Designer

Brock Benninger joined Gran Kriegel following significant experience as an intern with large design firms in Canada and New York. He is skilled in whole-building modeling with experience in Revit, Rhino, and the Adobe creative suite. In one of his internships, he gained familiarity with the concept of architect-led design-build, where the architect is the designer and construction manager. His first assignment at Gran Kriegel involves the restoration of multi-family buildings from a delapidated state to clean, functional, handsome affordable housing.Email





Marc Prisco, Designer

Marc Prisco is a skilled designer who comes to us from the illustrious architecture program at New York’s Pratt Institute, where he honed his technical skills for five years. At Pratt, his achievements earned a Presidential Merit Scholarship, a Junge Memorial Scholarship, and a Lee and Norman Rosenfeld Grant to study advanced architecture topics in Rome. Marc interned with Gran Kriegel prior to completing his degree.Email





Linda Eklund, Business Development

Linda Eklund is a marketing and business development specialist working with architects, engineers, and project managers to gain market awareness, commissions, awards, and market share. With Gran Kriegel since 2008, she has helped sustain the firm's core practice in supportive housing, public and charter schools and its expansion into federal work with the Coast Guard and Naval Facilities Command. Ms. Eklund's history includes marketing public transit with New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the TriMet light rail system in Portland, Oregon. She has worked as a journalist, a bilingual satellite coordinator for Italian TV in New York, a translator, and occasional line producer for documentaries.Email





Sharon McClintic, Marketing Manager


Sharon McClintic is a marketing specialist who comes to Gran Kriegel after earning her MBA from Fordham University. Her background spans all aspects of marketing, from strategic marketing and planning, to branding, web design, print design, public relations, and website design and management.Email
