469X is a new 650-seat school housing grades pre-K through 5th grade. Built on a site with a 13’ change in elevation, the school features a generous open stair connection the lower level and first floor, both of which are at grade. The school includes 25 classrooms, library, art room, music room, science rooms, recreation room, cafeteria and gymatorium. Outdoor spaces include a generous play yard as well as separate play area for the lower grades on the roof of the gymatorium.The articulated façade is constructed of economical, pre-cast concrete insulated panels. The school is designed to the rigorous NYC Green Schools Guidelines.
