High School Restructuring

  • public school remodeling in nyc - design by gran kriegel architects
  • public school designers in nyc - architecture work by gran kriegel architects
  • high school restructuring renovation design project by educational architecture firm Gran Kriegel Architects

Gran Kriegel provided planning, design, and administration for the reorganization of five large, underperforming high schools into smaller academies. Part of New York City’s “small school initiative”, the schools included:

  • Erasmus
  • Park West
  • Seward Park
  • Wingate
  • Prospect Heights

This endeavor required time-sensitive planning, design, and construction monitoring in response to multiple phased constructions.

Six additional schools throughout NYC were inherited by Gran Kriegel as part of this project during their close-out phases. These included:

  • Bushwick
  • Thomas Jefferson
  • Far Rockaway
  • Van Arsdale
  • Springfield Gardens
  • MLK high schools.

The restructuring also involved many small renovations typical of our Capital Improvement Projects term contract with the New York City School Construction Authority.
